The Healthcare Reform Bill is the most significant change to our healthcare system since the passage of Medicare/Medicaid in the mid 1960’s. Add to that other factors, such as the increase in numbers of uninsured/underinsured individuals, the downturn in the economy and the rise in uncompensated care….there are a lot of uncertainties. People are hurting. Last year alone, EAMC provided more than $35 million in free, uncompensated care to people in need in our communities.
As we do all we can to control costs without sacrificing quality, we will continue to pursue our vision of being a national leader in cost, quality and service. We will adhere to our mission and values – high-quality, compassionate healthcare, provided by employees and physicians who are committed to excellence.
I firmly believe that we can – with your help – turn these challenges into opportunities to not only sustain EAMC for our children and grandchildren, but to take it to new heights. With the community behind us, EAMC can be a national leader as well as the hometown hospital committed to exceptional care, the place you’ve come to rely on.
