Help the Babies

The EAMC Prenatal Clinic was created to assume the responsibility of caring for pregnant women and their unborn babies in our community after the cancellation of Maternity Care Services provided by the Lee County Health Department. The first patient was seen on September 12, 2005; almost 2,500 patients have been seen over the past two years.

There is a great need to provide prenatal care to pregnant women from Barbour, Chambers, Lee, Russell and Macon Counties who have Medicaid or who have no insurance. Along with that care comes the responsibility of ensuring the safety and well being of the babies after they are born.

As a community we can make an outward commitment to these babies by making donations to support the following programs:

CHILD CAR SEATS – Working with students from the Auburn University Social Work Program, funds are being raised to provide new car seats for infants whose parents attend parenting classes.

DVD: “Baby’s First Months, What Do We Do Now?” – the DVD is viewed in parenting classes at the Prenatal Clinic; your gift can make a copy available for each mother to take home for personal reference.

Work with us to ensure that these babies have a great start and hope for a bright future. The EAMC Prenatal Clinic staff appreciates any assistance you are able to give.
