Mr. Machen is a retired Certified Public Accountant who serves as a consultant to Machen, McChesney and Chastain. He has accepted the opportunity to serve as the EAMC Foundation board chairman because he recognizes the excellent service East Alabama Medical Center provides to residents of the Lee county area. One of his priorities is making the public aware of donation opportunities for citizens of Lee and surrounding counties to help with health care needs of others.

Mr. Machen graduated from Auburn University with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting. Upon graduation, Mr. Machen decided to stay in the area and worked with Don McChesney. He and his wife,Jane, have three children and nine grandchildren.
