Dora James
Board Member since 1997

Ms. James believes the EAMC Foundation Board serves a vital role in connecting the medical center to the east Alabama community by communicating to our local citizens the available medical services and programs offered. She is truly honored to serve as a member of a board whose goal is to improve and to protect the health and well-being of our citizens.

Ms. James is a graduate of Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. As well as being an EAMC Foundation board member, she has also served as president of the Auburn Woman’s Club, the Opelika Arts Association and the Alabama Legislative Club. She serves on the board of directors of Envision Opelika, the Alabama State Council on the Arts, and Easter Seals of Alabama. She is a Founders Circle member of the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art and is a charter member of the Women’s Philanthropy Board of Auburn University. She presently serves as Board Development Chair for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Lee County. She has published two children’s books, is the mother of three children, and has three grandchildren.
